I got a first class ticket to a night all alone;
Actually for the past few years , newspapers or what so ever had reported that Singaporeans are inconsiderate , uncivilised blah blah blah. But today , i saw 2 insignificant yet significant things happening that proves the statement wrong.
Incident 1
An indo maid hopped on the bus but realised that her ezlink card had no enough money. So she tried to look for coins but to no avail 'cause she only had a $10 note. Then she went around ( on the bus ) to ask if we had any small change. Obviously noone had. So an old uncle who sat at a corner that noone would ever noticed , offered her coins worth $1.70 to pay for her ride. When the maid thanked the old uncle profusely , he just blushed 'cause abit paiseh.
Incident 2
Went to shop for dresses today. The auntie was super nice 'cause she asked about my likings and chose many dresses for me. Not like other shopkeepers , the auntie adressed my mother as Mdm and me as Miss. That's so polite! Despite alot of customers waiting for the dressing room , she made sure that i had tried on every single one of the dresses before letting the 2nd customer to go in. And when we left the shop , she took my hand and said ThankYou , ThankYou so much. Gawd!
Haha i was v touched by them when i saw them happening. I dont know how / what you'll feel after reading them. Maybe they sound very lame to you , maybe we have the same thoughts.
Maybe. But just want to say that , we're not living in a cold and heartless society. There's still warmth , right here.
